Title: Sore breasts and estrogen
Post by: Aubrey on February 05, 2025, 01:55:31 PM
Hi,

I've been using Sandrena for about 4 years, I have no idea if I'm still peri or post, I use a cyclical regime which means I have a false bleed every month.

In the last 2 months my breasts have become very sore despite not increasing my Sandrena gel dose. I've been on the same amount for almost a year. I have learned to associate sore boobs with too much estrogen but I haven't increased my dose. I don't understand why at this stage my body is telling me it's getting too much estrogen when I haven't increased the dose for almost a year and it wasn't too much before.

I had a scan a few months ago and was informed I had only one egg left, I expect I've laid that by now so I can't imagine I'm suddenly producing lots of estrogen again.

Has anyone had this experience and what was it all about?

Hi,

I'm just throwing an idea out... I'm also on Sandrena and believe that more recent batches have been weaker (i went from 2mg to 3mg). So I'm wondering if this batch might be stronger?

I know some people will say these drugs undergo stringent testing etc. But i know my body and after the oestrogel fiasco i dont really trust our HRT drugs are as consistent as other meds.

Unless anything else has changed? Diet? Skin drier or oilier, different skin products or supplements? For example I had to cut out flaxseeds because it interfered with the effectiveness of my hrt.

Maybe it’s water retention.? If I eat more salty or processed foods I get water retention in my breasts. Also I retain water there during my time of month which causes sensitivity. Have you changed your diet?

Hi all,

thanks for your replies. There have been no changes to my diet or anything else. It can't be pre-menstrual bloat because it's been consistent for more than 2 solid months. I don;t have a competent GP so I'm feeling stuck.
