Title: FSH test strips
Post by: HighlandBluebell on January 25, 2025, 02:35:33 PM
Has anyone had any success with the fsh test strips you can buy, or found them a worthwhile purchase? Many thanks!

I bought some off Amazon which were called Laboquick Menopause Tests, they are about £6/£7 for 2 in a pack. Each one I’ve taken has been positive but since starting HRT I tried again and the lines were more faint. Not sure whether that means anything x

Thanks LittleClaire, I'd seen those on Amazon myself!

What R U looking for specifically?  Do they have to be used at a 'certain time' in a cycle?

FSH isn't really an indicator of anything, so I'd save your money on this one.

If you want to test anything yourself, get your estradiol level tested with Medichecks or (even better) the Tasso test from your arm offered at home by Randox Health.

There are few situations in which FSH levels have any clinical utility, and many commercial companies seeking to part women from their hard-earned, at what can be a vulnerable time of life.

I would think about what question you are hoping this test will answer, and then figure out the best way to address that, ideally without purchasing anything from an unregulated source for a huge mark up.

Also there is no evidence that I am aware of correlating urinary FSH with plasma levels, so if the test is indicated it is better to do a blood test.

Thank you all! Yes, I'd found a pack of 10 amd was hoping that they might be something that would maybe track a tangible difference throughout a cycle.

Selling it to the public in packs of 10 is also a major red flag.

This perpetuates the belief that there is value in testing it repeatedly, making them even more £££££
