Hello all, I've recently had several urine tests that were all sent for analysis, they have all come back with microscopic blood, elevated white cell count and elevated skin cells, all indicators of an UTI or inflammation. However there's no infection showing in the analysis. I also have pain in my lower abdomen.
I have an appointment with an urologist at the end of the month but must admit I'm concerned. I'm 53 and had no period for 2 years.
Just to ask has anyone had this and what was the outcome/diagnosis? x

That evidence is probably normal for most of us, with or without urine tests. How many tests have been sent away?
I suspect that you have vaginal atrophy which your GP/Nurse Practitioner should have recognised by now. Negligent if VA hasn't been considered!
Ring in the morning and ask for appropriate VA treatment: ask for 'vagifem' and 'estriol' - the former is inserted into the vagina every night for at least 2-3 weeks, it's a pessary. 'estriol' can be smeared on the outer labia, vulva etc. the idea being to replace oestrogen being lost and to improve any dryness.
Don't be put off by 'you can't take both products at once' because we cannot overdose on oestrogen. Your Nurse Practitioner may be more knowledgable than your GP seems to be.
let us know how you get on. In the meantime, if U have some KY Jelly then insert gently. It won't replace oestrogen but may ease symptoms .

As CLKD says, Vaginal atrophy, or GSM, is a possibility.
Ask your GP for vaginal oestrogen to try.
PS. I also get a low down aching.

Thank you both, I'll definitely mention to my doctor and urologist x

I wouldn't wait to see the urologist, the appt may after all be postponed.

Knowledge is everything, print off the following document, its invaluable and will be a great help.

If it's GSM you are suffering from you won't need to see a urologist, just oestrogen treatment.
My symptoms and the reaction from the medics were exactly as you describe, not one of the medics knew what I was suffering from until three months of testing and time wasting I was finally diagnosed with a gynaecologist saying 'you need oestrogen down there', it can be as simple as that!

Hey there, I’ve also had this for months now (alongside VA symptoms), though I’m in peri. Urologist and ultrasound showed nothing - but docs don’t seem to link it to VA which is frustrating. Def ask for the estrogen cream & pessaries.
