Title: Terrible skin - acne, dermatitis, sensitivity
Post by: PeriPeri on December 26, 2024, 11:58:55 PM
Since menopause I’m getting hormonal acne on my chin and under my nose. Possibly also perioral dermatitis. My facial skin is dry and sore in patches and I look a mess. Has anyone found any treatment or supplements etc that work for these horrible symptoms? At 46 I feel like a spotty teenager, it’s awful. 😢

HORMONES  >:(

MayB speak to a Pharmacist about treatments?  Did U suffer during your teens?  I had spots but never acne.

Could it be Rosacea? Mine started with sore spots and really dry patches

Estrogen!

At 46 you have loads of options including a combined pill like yazmin or marvelon which are particularly favourable for the skin.

These can also get rid of bleeding as a bonus if taken continuously.

Or you could go straight to menopause hormone therapy.

Obvs a healthy lifestyle and a good moisturizer are necessary too, but at this point not sufficient.

I have dry, sensitive, roseacea, rednesses prone skin. No spots though but am a decade older. The lack of oestrogen plays havoc with my skin dryness/sensitivity and it’s extremely delicate too. Whatever you try treatment wise please go gently as it’s so easy to disrupt the skin even further with too much being added into the mix.
