Title: Longer than normal period
Post by: Jules12 on December 21, 2024, 05:41:24 AM
I am panicking as I am now on day 9 of my period.  Until day 8 it was relatively lighter than my normal periods (only getting small amount of blood on pad) today, it seems got a bit heavier.   I spoke to a clinician at 111 on Thursday who said she was 99% it it to do with changes preparing for menopause but, she said she wanted to refer me to GP as 10 days days prior I'd had a one day bleeding.  She scared me when she said she wanted to rule out uterine cancer.  I have anxiety and this has hasn't helped saying this.  I'm perimenopausal and have been since the age of 48, I'm now 52. I'm on Femoston and my periods have been regular in terms of length - normally 7 days  - but suddenly it's been 9 days so far.  Hopefully GP is phoning me Monday,  but, just wondered if prolonged periods of 7 days or more are normal?
