Hi all
I was after some advice and your thoughts ......I am 49, I had my last period on 22nd Nov 2023 (leading up to that, they had become very irregular).
As I am nearing the 12 months of no periods, I was hopeful I was nearing the end (so to speak). So I could not believe it that last week, I got my period, after nearly 12 months of nothing.
This has really knocked me, and cannot believe that a period has arrived. It feels like a period, with usual pain amd flow is normal.
Has anyone else experienced this with nearly a year and then your period arrives. I know the 12 months of no period is the guide of the menopause, reading up about, they say a period after 12 months should be checked. Any advice please. Or has anyone had something similar.

Yep. :welcomemm:
My periods waxed and waned for several years. I would miss months then another period would appear ........ sorry, but you need to begin counting again.
Browse round. Make notes ;-). Ask away.
How have U felt over all?

I was thinking I had to start counting again! Aagh
Finding it really hard, the symptoms have really ramped up the past year, it seems never ending 😢 so I was really hopeful with nearing the 12 months that the end was in sight.
I am not on HRT, just a personal choice, I am just taking herbal supplements.

Herbals may help initially but as hormones begin to rise and fall, any benefits may be lost. Also these are unlikely to be have 'tested' in the same way as hormone 'replacement' therapy has been.
Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress.
