I get conflicting messages, I hear don't bother with bloods to see where your levels are at because they fluctuate too much and then others saying get bloods done??
I've got crippling depression and anxiety, nearly 2 years and relentless. Went from 50mcg patch (bout 3 months) to 75mcg (5 weeks)now 100mcg (day 6). No improvement in symptoms. Progesterone is taken vaginally.
Perhaps I'm not absorbing properly?

Are you on sequential HRT or continuous? Sometimes the progesterone is to blame for depressed and anxious feelings. Just wondering if you've always had the same one?
Ive never been offered a blood test for oestrogen levels but I was 53 when I started HRT so definitely peri.

I think continous, I change my patch twice weekly and take 200mgs progesterone everynight, no breaks. Dr thought the progesterone may be affecting my mood so to take it vaginally and id know in a day or so if I have an intolerance to progesterone. I don't appear to as my mood hasn't changed since I changed progesterone from orally to vaginally

Yes that's continuous. It must be very frustrating for you. I think that a blood test to see how you are absorbing would be a useful thing to have. You could see whether you are absorbing then.

I'd try stopping the utro for a couple of weeks and see if you feel any different (it may trigger a bleed). Using it vaginally will avoid digestive problems nut I'm not convinced anout anything else. It gives me fatigue whichever way I take it.

The Dr said taking it vaginally means it stays localized and therefore can tell if that's the issue, she said I'd be able to tell in a day or so, but it hasn't made a difference.
Also, I've been severely depressed/anxious before I started hrt, which was the reason for giving it a go.
