Have been using Vagifem now for nearly 4 months with great success but now note that unfortunately I have a small amount of blood in my urine but no other symptoms. Think it could have been triggered by starting to drink wine again !!! Not sure whether to go to the GP or just to try and flush it out with plenty of water and Mannose. Will definitely give up alcohol and caffeine for now. Any advice please ?

It is unlikely to be the alcohol. Use the VA treatment tonight and at least for 7 nights, as hormones rise and fall the vagina/vulva often needs more treatment. When my symptoms niggle I swallow 'nurofen' 3 times a day.
Blood is often caused by the vaginal tissues becoming thin and dry due to not enough lubrication up there.

Hi Maryann I would suggest that if you do have visible blood in your urine then this does need investigating. I always have microscopic blood in mine due to VA but my GP has always said to make an appointment if the blood in my urine is visible to the naked eye. Hope this helps

I have also had blood detected in my urine but not visible and cleared up with VA treatment, any blood that you can see must always be investigated.
I've read before of advice given here in particular a woman with the toilet bowl streaked in blood and was told it was probably because of VA.
I hope we are all mature enough to take no notice of this advice and seek help without delay.

Hi, I also had visible blood in my urine before. I agree with the other ladies that it definitely needs investigating. I'd give your gp surgery a call and get their advice....they may just put it down to the vagifem but I'd hear what they have to say.
Let us know how it goes
