Hi everyone
I've been on oestrogen and progesterone for 3 years now. In the last year I developed joint pain, tinnitus, allergies etc and my motivation further tanked. My private doctor took blood tests and prescribed testestorone recently. I've been using Androfeme for 5 weeks now.
I feel like my motivation has perked up a bit, I feel more alert but my joints are still not OK. I went to the gym once recently and it flared up my knees and elbows.
The doctor had said to wait 4 weeks on the testosterone and I could up my oestrogen if I wasn't feeling any better. My blood oestradial was 285 pmol/L 6 weeks ago. Testosterone was 0.365 pg/ml.
Has anyone found increasing the oestrogen helped with joint pain? I use 2 pumps of the gel currently.
I'd have to go to my GP to increase prescription and I'm not looking forward to it. Or go back private and pay.
Anyone exercise through joint pain? Lifting in particular. And how do you get through it? Ice? Diet?
Thanks!

It's usually a drop in oestrogen levels as muscles may become lax = aches and pains.
Which speciality is the private Doctor, why wait to increase oestrogen or was the a suggestion in the mean time :-\ :-\ ....... blood tests can be unreliable depending on where we are in the journey.
Pain is a warning so don't do too much until symptoms ease. A physiotherapist interested in womens health might be another option.

Thanks CLKD
The private doctor is a menopause specialist, sorry should have made that clear. Her thinking was to give the testestorone some time(4 weeks) and see how I felt first. And only then up my oestrogen if I wanted to.
It's frustrating but I'll go easy on myself, thank you for the reminder. I walk daily and yesterday did some beginners Pilates and feel good for it today.

Perhaps taking a pain relief 30 mins B4 exercise might help too. But don't over do it!

That is a pretty low E level. It's only just over the minimum acceptable amount for the benefits of HRT (250pmol) and may well not be enough for you as an individual.
For sure, try increasing your E. My low E symptoms included a lot of joint pain as well. But in my experience it's not a symptom which rapidly goes away, it takes a few months after you increase the dosage. (Unlike, say, hot flushes.)

Thanks, Joziel. I did have some respite from the joint pain for some months earlier this year and managed to go to dance classes and lift weight . Since the summer, however it's been a rollercoaster of symptoms and very low motivation.
I just bought a bunch of ingredients so I can make some green juice at home. And I'll get in touch with my GP.

How will green juice help :-\ ???
