Hi
I was prescribed this to help with palpitations - another joy of the menopause - but I feel worse than ever. Anxiety, low mood. Not sure if it can affect HRT or if it’s side effects?
Wonder if any other ladies have had this experience?
Thank you x

It can help, my neighbour goes hyper on it, I found it eased my early morning cortisol surges so that I slept through the night.
How much have U been prescribed and when do U take it? What other HRT are U using?

Oh that’s interesting!
It’s actually made my sleep much worse.
I’m only on 10mg, three times a day but I’ve only been able to tolerate it once daily and I don’t even think I’m tolerating that!
I’m on evorel 75, Provera 10mg.
Thank you for your kind response.

MayB stop for 5 days 2 C how you feel?
-
Thank you. I think that’s what I’ll have to do. I can’t keep feeling so awful.

I think if you are sensitive to it, 3 times a day is far too much. Either just have one dose in the morning and see how you go - or cut one in half and just try that. Certainly taken at night for some people it can keep you awake!

Initially I was on 80mg 3 times a day, after 3 weeks dropped to 40mg twice then I cut that myself 2 40mg at night; followed by 20mg at night until lock down as I had headaches. Didn't know if it was the BB or Covid ::)

Thanks ladies.
I’ve stopped taking it today. Still feel slightly ‘off’ but better than the past few days.
Going to discuss alternatives with my GP on Tuesday x

Let us know how you get on?

Hi
I was on Propranolol for 2 years. 80mg slow release. I've come off them a few weeks ago as I realised that they were making my anxiety much worse. I can't believe it took me 2 years to figure it out. They also caused me to have depression (something I never had in my life before). They also made my Ecoptic beats much much worse. They can block melatonin so contribute to insomnia. I didn't realise how bad i felt on them until I came off. They did help with the racing heart I was getting (the reason I went on them). I know they work well for many people, but these are some of the side effects that I experienced.
Hope that helps xx

80mg is a huge amount anyway :-\

Morning CLKD - 80mg slow release is the equivalent of 40mg immediate release. Not sure why it would be different but it is. I don’t know this either until I started my research into the side effects and tapering :-\
I never want to read another beta blocker study! ;D Xx
