Title: Hair changed?
Post by: Caro on November 08, 2024, 08:37:58 AM
Hello everyone, I am 56 and on evorel sequi. Since my hormones started changing several years ago I have noticed my once straightish hair (it did have a slight wave sometimes), now has gone really wavy and in some places ringlets. I did lose loads but once I went onto HRT it started to grow back but curly/wavy. I don't mind and quite like it. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think mine is more curly!

It's known that after chemotherapy hair may take on a different look.  Do U like the effect?

Yep Caro. I'm exactly the same. My hair was always poker straight and it now, naturally, has a shaggy perm look in places - it drives me mad  :bang:
I have an ongoing battle, constantly armed with my straightening fluid and argan oil  ;)

Me too,  used to be straight,  now wavy but not consistently all over.   I'm trying to learn to love my new curls rather than straightening all the time.

Bizarre isn't it?

LOL @ TD!

As well as hair thinning I now have frizzy hair. The kind of frizz that does not seem to settle with frizz products!

It’s really difficult to manage!

I tried the latest Pantene volume shampoo and it actually helped settle the candyfloss frizzy hair look haha!
Give it a go!

Me too, I now have wavy hair. I’ve found using John Freida Weightless Wonder, scrunching when wet and leaving to dry naturally has been best for me. Honestly it’s very liberating and drying and smoothing for decades.

Yes!  I always had an annoying kink or two, and prone to frizz in damp weather, but my hair was by and large straight.  Over the last few years it has been getting curlier and harder to straighten.

Last week I started using Merwave to embrace the natural curl and the result is unbelievable even just leaving it to air dry.  The underneath is practically ringlets and the top is really wavy with curls in places.  Very bizarre.  I'm 49.

Sorry for the delay in responding everyone. It's interesting to hear it is quite usual. I struggled initially but watched a few videos on how to care for wavy hair. It's quite nice now  :)
