Ive only been on HRT for 5 months. Started on estraderm 25mg and within a few weeks felt really good- brain fog had eased, sweats had reduced and was finally sleeping better. But after another month the sleeping issues were back. Went for my review and my patch was changed for the 50mg. But since ive been on that ive felt rotten. Crazy anxiety and butterflies that i never had before. Sleeping only a few hours a night and just feeling generally exhausted all the time. Could mean the 50mg is too high a dose for me? Should i drop it back down? Anyone had the same? Thanks

Yes, yes, yes ......... sometimes the body simply doesn't need that amount of extra.
:welcomemm: tell us more about yourself, age, children, pets; who is over-seeing your HRT regime? We have threads about most things on here ;D
Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to.

I've never uses patches but had similar experience when I changed from gel to spray a couple of months ago. I advised GP that I wanted to increase gel as symptoms returning but she suggested I change to spray as so many women reporting issues with gel. I was on 3.5 pumps of gel and I thought she told me to use 3 pumps of spray.
My first two weeks of spray seemed to improve things for me (disturbed sleep and itchy skin are my main symptoms) but then I went downhill again. It wasn't until I opened my second box of spray that I read the dispensing label and it said 1-2 sprays. So I reduced to 2 sprays and thing have improved again. I think I had inadvertently increased my oestrogen intake too much.
Long winded way of saying that you could be right in what you are thinking! I've read on here that some women cut their patches in half/quarters to get the right level of dosage for them. Maybe that's something you could consider? Or maybe there is a patch that gives an intermediate amount?
Good luck!

I did drop back down to the 25mg and have felt much better already. The anxiety, which was the worst thing for me, has eased so much. Will discuss when i go for my next review but it seems 25mg is enough for me for now. Thanks for your replies.
