Well, I've been on utrogestan vaginally at 200mg for 25 days and just today I'm bleeding again. Exasperated isn't the word!!
I'm really not sure what my options are to be honest and I'd appreciate any advice.
I'm post meno on 2 pumps of gel which I feel fine on, I had unopposed estrogen last year which led to a heavy bleed. I had 3 mths off hrt and restarted in March of this year.
I've been avoiding taking 200mg utro orally to be honest but I feel I have no other option.
I really don't want the coil, I've done some research and it's really not for me. I had been toying with the idea of going on a sequi regime (2 weeks on and 2 weeks off) but I'm a bit worried due to my history of unopposed estrogen).
I wondered if maybe the gel was too strong for me, but I don't seem to absorb well off the patches.
Any advice would be gratefully received!!! Thank you x
Dont know why this has posted twice, I only posted it once - sorry

I have a new gynae and i have an appt with her on 5th Nov x

Hi Any change to hrt can take 3 months to settle. Am I right in thinking that you’ve just changed from 100 to 200 continuously ?
-
hi dotty
I changed from 100mg to 200mg vaginally 25 days ago x
-
Hi what was your reason for changing to 200 ?
-
Hi Dotty
I'd been taking utro orally for about 5 or 6 months when I had a small bleed. I saw my gynae and she advised the increase.
I hope your keeping ok Dotty x

Hi I’m good thanks x

You could try the 25 days out of 28 routine, it allows a bleed if there's been a build up. If you find that over time you don't bleed you could move to continuous.

Hi sheila99
You must have read my mind as thats my plan.
I don't understand though as I'm post meno and I've been on utrogestan continuous why I would bleed.
I obviously have too much unopposed estrogen, I've even been considering dropping the estrogen and just taking the utrogestan on its own as weird as that sounds as the utro helps my sleep.
Thank you x

You could trial reducing to 1 pump and see if that helps, rather than stop the Oestrogel altogether. Maybe wait until you see your gynae next week before changing anything. They might do a scan or offer a hysteroscopy to make sure all is well.

Hi GraceM
Yes I hadnt planned on changing anything until I see her.
I only had a scan done in August and womb lining was 6mm. I had a biopsy done last Nov due to a bleed and everything was fine was just not enough progesterone x

Hi I think you’ve got to give it time to settle . You’ve started a new dose of Utrogestan so it could take 3-6 months to settle .
