Title: Right hand rib pain
Post by: debbyx on October 08, 2024, 01:39:23 PM
Hi All

So after weeks of really bad anxiety
And random pain around shoulders and chest area i had convinced myself that I had heart issues but all those symptoms went away the anxiety has stayed and getting worse. How I have right hand rib pain and acid reflux and a lot of gas.
I am getting so fed up with this day in and day out.  I wake up each day and don’t want to get out of bed as I am scared what symptom will I have today

As soon as I get up I feel okay but then as the day goes my anxiety gets worse and it’s like going round in circles.  I just want to feel normal again.  I am 62 and not on HRT
And don’t really want to be but I don’t want to be like this either.

Can all these symptoms really be menopause right know I feel like it’s taking over my life and I can’t be bothered to do any thing but just sitting about and thinking is obviously making it worse.  I analyse every twinge until my anxiety hits the roof.

I just sit and cry most days.

Are others like me.  Just need reassurance sometimes to make me feel better.

Yep. symptoms may well be menopausal.

Have U spoken to a GP or Pharmacist?  It may simply be trapped 'wind' and there are over the counter remedies.  For years I swallowed milk of. magnesia or 'rennies', my GP prescribes omeprazole for an irritating cough caused by reflux.

As muscles become lax one may develop hiatus hernia ...... = wind!

R U losing/gaining weight?  R U sleeping all the while ......... if worried book yourself an appt with the Nurse Practitioner who can examine U.  Let us know how you get on.

Are you minding your posture?

..or drop your shoulders, curve your back, slouch?  If your ribcage is curving there will be aches and pains.

For, at 62, your body is now with less hormones, one that were strengthening your whole body, kept you upright when you were younger. Gone now everything drops!  Next in a queue is VA and UTIs, followed by incontinence.  Only 70% have it so you wont be alone!

..or, you could go on HRT..?

I had all this and it was gallstones which are known to be caused by esteregon

I was thinking gallbladder too. I think you should get this pain checked out debbyx. It's easy to blame every symptom on menopause and struggle on but I think it's a good idea to ask for medical advice if a new pain develops
