Hi everyone!
I’ve recently swapped from Evorel conti 100 patches to 4 pumps of Oestrogel, mainly because of skin irritation. Two weeks in and I am bloating horrendously around my middle and it is extremely uncomfortable. It started before I had to take my Utrogestan, which I usually tolerate fairly well.
Can anyone advise from their own experience if they think this will settle or am I best heading back to the patches which did control my symptoms, and itchy skin?

Hi. Can't help as I don't take HRT. Was the itchy skin under or around the patch?
-
Hi, it was around the edge so I was thinking that it was the adhesive. The patches controlled my symptoms well but the itching and redness was driving me crazy.

It might just be that you are a super-absorber of the gel, so whilst officially 100mcg patch = 4 pumps of gel, if you were an under-absorber of the patch and a super-absorber of gel, you might need less gel.
You could try reducing to 3 pumps and see how that is...

Morning. Several have had reactions to the adhesives, did U move the patch around ? Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your replies. I have reduced to three pumps to see if that does make a difference.
I also did move the patch around to see if it was less irritating in other areas but it was the same unfortunately.
I will persevere as I realise two weeks is not long in HRT circles and I’ll report back if it improves and I’m hoping that the info might help someone else! :)

You might need to wait till after your next bleed now. I mean, if you absorbed a super dose of gel which caused bloating, you will hopefully lose that at your next period...

There are other options if you don't get on with gel. I developed an allergy to evorel too but I'm fine with estradot.
