				Hello everyone! New here  :)
45 yr old, Canadian
Believe I have begun the “change”.
Recently went to ER due to heavy bleeding. CT and Ultrasound shows thick uterine lining 1.4cm and a 1.5cm fibroid. ER doc prescribed Tranexamic Acid.
I really wanted to embrace the change, you know, go with it instead of fight it but it’s already winning. I’ve been so scared the past two weeks this is the new norm.
Looking for other women to relate to and support.

Hi!   :welcomemm:  Did the bleeding ease?
Peri-menopause can present with lots of different symptoms.   Most women know about the loss of periods with associated hot flushes/flashes .......... = menopause.
Those years leading up to the last bleed can throw up some difficult health issues: increased anxiety, waxing/waning periods, flushing, chills ......... as well as vaginal atrophy and other bladder issues.  As oestrogen levels drop the body may become dry: inside and out; skin, deep in the ears, nostrils, vagina, anus, between the toes, scalp - and muscles may become lax = aches and pains.
Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary is of use.  Browse round. Make notes ;-).  Ask away.

It had eased but I can tell when I wipe that of it we’re not for the tranexamic acid it would be a blood bath.
Before all of this I had spotting for a week. Just when I wiped, very light. Started after sex. I also for the past few months have noted I pee a lot during the night in-spite of letting up off liquids around 8pm. Always having that heavy need to pee feeling which I suppose is the fibroid causing pressure.
I also had a polyp removed last year. My word I never want to endure anything like that again. I swear I saw a white light and maybe god. No anesthetic give.
My hormone levels are good tho, right were they are “supposed” to be for a healthy individual.
I am left feeling like WTF…..

				WTF indeed.   Join The Club!
Hormone blood tests are reliably un-reliable unless Labs have a better system than in the UK.  It may be that your hormonal upheaval is aggravating that fibroid which is something that your medic should have discussed with you.
My periods waxed and waned for several years.  Fortunately after years++ of heavy, clotty, excruitctingly painful periods, as they waned the pains went away.
OUCH!  No woman should have to undergo such torture!  Many here are not offered an anaesthetic for hysterocopy for example ....... it depends on how knowledgeable the persons in that Dept happen to be!

And if they'd done that to a dog they'd have been (rightly) prosecuted  >:(.
