Ladies I'm hoping I'm not the only one suffering with this - but it is really getting me down!
I've suffered on and off with dry eyes for months. I've also had problems with my throat, for some reason it has become very very dry.
I saw a private ENT specialist twice last year, as I had suffered sore throats on an off and I was worried it maybe something more serious. My health anxiety was quite high, which didn't help matters. He looked down my throat and basically said there was nothing he could see and to gargle with salty water at night. If this failed he would then suggest taking my tonsils out - but he said it was very painful!!! Suffice to say I have not taken him up on his offer of surgery.
I'm post menopausal and been on HRT for 2 years (Utrogestran and 3 pumps of Oetrogel).
I was wondering if all this dryness is menopause related? Can anyone relate to my symtoms??
Thanks

As oestrogen levels drop so the body may become dry: inside and out; nostrils, deep in the ears, scalp, vagina, skin - as well as muscles may Bcome lax = aches and pains.
There are sweeties to ease mouth dryness - can't remember the name but can be purchased from Boots etc..
Do U sleep with mouth wide open?

Yes, I do unfortunately :'( I'm also a very bad mouth breather during the day as I often catch myself - especially if I'm stressed.
I might look at buying a dehumidifier and putting it in my bedroom. I've tried mouth taping, but I wake myself up during the night with it stuck to my eyelid ;D
In all honesty, this sore throat thing is starting to get me down and I feel like my GP and private specialist are not really that interested :'(

Probably because medics don't know how dry throat can impact. Have U tried putting pillows behind your body on the comfy side, so that you don't roll over with gob wide open?
MayB see a dentist if possible to check, you can have a guard made which may help.
