I was prescribed vaginal estriol as the pain and dryness was disruptive to our sex life. However I’ve read that I need to wait 12 hours after application to have sex and that I’m supposed to apply it at night. If we were going to have sex this is the most likely time with children at home. Does it matter if I take it in morning? Also it says not to use it with condoms. This is what we use as I’m not 100% sure I’m fully menopausal due to an absence of periods while having a mirena coil (just removed). Any advice ?

Why is life so complicated!
:welcomemm:
The idea to use at night is to allow absorption, i.e. what goes up comes out. Using in the morning then laying on the bed for a while should be OK. When I have to use an extra dose in the afternoon I never have problems with the preparation leaving my body.
As for condoms, can't help there. Sorry.

Intimate act first then apply estriol?
Hurdity x

Yes I suppose so. In the interests of spontaneity I might not know an intimate act is forthcoming. So that might mean waiting until I hear snoring and getting up to apply lol. Just seems a bit of a nuisance

I wouldn't let it rule your life once the oestrogen starts to take affect, you can decide for yourself when to use the treatment.
No one told me what time of day to use Vagifem and Estriol and I have got into the habit of using every morning because that's what suits me.
Its for life and its good you are starting the treatment early as it can come as a shock to those of us who reached a great age and didn't know what on earth was going on down there.
