Title: New member
Post by: Tulip23 on July 26, 2024, 03:35:59 PM
Hi, I'm new here. I'm 63 years old and have been struggling since May 23 with vaginal dryness, bloating and a painful vagina, worse when sitting down.

I've been to the doctor on numerous occasions and was sent for a scan that showed nothing abnormal as we're the blood tests.
I'm currently on vagifem twice weekly and use yes vm lubricant.
I just want the feeling to go away. I'm at the end of my tether as it's making my life a misery.
I've tried every herbal remedy going.
I'm looking to see if anyone can suggest anything to help

Twice weekly is probably not enough, do a reload of every night for a couple of weeks until you feel comfortable and then reduce if you feel you can gradually. I'm on vagifem every night and also use estriol cream every night externally and just about have things under control at the moment.

Twice weekly is hopeless for most women and it seems for you too. I am on Vagifem six days a week with a smear of Estriol cream and moisturiser twice daily.
Even on this kind of dose when you first start the treatment it can takes weeks and even months to take affect.

This link should help you

 :welcomemm:

Did U have a 2-3 week loading of the vaginal atrophy treatment?  This is essential to plump up the thinning skin internally which helps ease the dryness.  Some require treatment every night, others manage with twice with moisturisers, i.e. 'slyc' or 'yes' products.  I find that KY jelly along with 'ovestin' helps keep my VA at bay.

Browse round.  Make notes ;-).

Agreeing with previous posts about upping your vagifem, but that it could take weeks or months to see improvement.

I have however just read about using a vaginal moisturiser formulated from hyaluronic acid is an effective treatment that has been shown to be as effective as vaginal estrogen. Not looked into it so unsure if available in the UK.
