Title: New to HRT advice where you put your patches

Hi everyone

So started HRT yesterday and my patch is coming off already it’s on my thigh at the front.
Can you tell me where your go to place is please. I am over weight so belly isn’t an option 🙈

Hi Sammicamps. I'm on Evorel and put mine on my buttock on the more firmer part  ;D. It's worth following the instructions exactly as to how to apply them. Holding it down really firmly with the palm of your hand means the warmth helps the adhesive stick. Also no oils or creams on the skin. The hormones are contained in the adhesive so it's good if they stick well. Which patch are you using?

Hi I am in the same ones evorel. I will change it later when I go to bed it’s near enough coming off 🙈 and ants must have been rubbing all day.

Can’t wait to feel normal again

Think you mean pants not ants though if that's your thing 🤣

I hope the next one sticks better. Evorel are usually one of the better 'stickers' but putting them on can take a bit of getting used to.

I hope you soon feel the benefit! What meno symptoms are you hoping to resolve?

I used estradiol patches during IVF and they constantly came off. It was worth it to have my daughter but I wouldn't entertain them for long term treatment.

I stuck them on my lower back and lower abdomen.

My clinic recommended cutting a square of hypafix or softpore surgical dressing (which you can buy on Amazon) a bit bigger than the patch and sticking it over the top.

This did the job and in fact made them quite hard to remove!

I take Zoely now, and when the time comes to go onto licenced MHT I will be using oral estradiol.

I guess I'm lucky that patch hrt has worked well for me for 17 years so I haven't had to consider changing. It's always good to know of alternatives.
