I had a telephone app today as I am still having awful itching / burning on and off. I'm on ovestin which I use every day plus yess vm. The doc gave me a perscription for canesten hydrocortisone to use sparingly I've also had swab and urine sample. Went to the chemist for perscription opened it up outside and they've given me athlete's foot canesten ???. I went back in to query and they've both said they didn't have the canesten she perscribed but said this is exactly the same. Can't ring docs now till tomorrow but I ain't putting athletes foot cream down there. I'm fuming !!! does anyone know if they are right to say its safe to use down below.

It's absolutely fine to use, it's exactly the same but less strength than for thrush.
