I wonder if anyone can help me. After years of having my VA under control I am having a terrible flare. I know I need ovestin as well as my daily vagifem, but my GP will not prescribe estriol cream/ovestin as well. It was a battle to get my vagifem prescribed for daily use! I have tried buying from an online pharmacy and did not give permission for my GP to be contacted, it all seemed to go through fine but then they rejected it. I presume it was due to not consenting. Has anyone successfully ordered online without their GP knowing? And if so where? I really don’t want my GP to know as I’m sure she’ll stop my vagifem.

Your GP is ignorant. Is there a Nurse Practitioner with more sense?
Some GPs stick to the leaflet in the box which suggests that ladies don't require any more than twice a week >:(.
Speak to the Practice Manager and explain that many ladies require both 'vagifem' daily as well as 'ovestin' for the labia/vulva. If necessary suggest that she reads the various threads on MM ;-). In the meantime, perhaps you could use KY Jelly smeared liberally or buy some 'yes' or 'sylc' moisturisers. Whilst they won't replace the oestrogen, they may well help keep the area from drying too much.

I bought Ovestin from Superdrug online pharmacy and didn't need to inform my GP. You need to be over 50 and if on any other form of HRT, they will reject your request.
Send an email to your surgery with the following quotes, you never know someone might take notice!

Thankyou I’m 48 so that must have been why, again it’s so outdated, many of us experience this under the age of 50

Thankyou CLKD, I will try the nurse practitioner, I think she may be better

Asda pharmacy should be okay. I bought a tube last week and no GP consent was required.
Why the hell is it all such a damm battle? Men get viagra at the drop of a hat. Women.. how many hoops must we jump through??
Best of luck 🤞
Remember it’s YOUR body and VA is a horrid condition.
