Title: Newbie here!!
Post by: Malbec73 on June 01, 2024, 05:12:32 PM
Evening all, thanks for the add,
I’m 53 and just started HRT, my issue is that I’ve had the implanon implant for the last 12 years so have not had a period in that time, this has now been removed, 2wks ago, but I have absolutely no idea where I am on my ‘menopause journey’
I don’t even know where to start! Anybody with similar issues, or can point me in the right direction! Drs have been useless!

Join The Club  :welcomemm:

Who removed the 'implant'?  Which HRT has been prescribed and which symptom/s are you trying to ease first?

Would it be better to allow your body to rest B4 putting it under pressure?   Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress.

There are dedicated menopause clinics both NHS and private: not gynaecologists : you may find one at your local hospital if you read the Health Authority website.   All have waiting lists.

Browse round. Make notes.  Ask away.

It had come to the end of its life so the clinic removed it.
I’m on Evorel Conti.
I guess I haven’t waited for my body to adjust as I’m trying to control hot sweats and mood-I haven’t cried in over 12 months!!
All the gp (nurse practitioner) told me to do was sign up to this website!!! Helpful huh!
Luckily I’m a librarian so try and research but first hand accounts are also useful!
