Post by: Hopeful2 on May 13, 2024, 03:34:57 PM
Hi ladies.

Could you please advise me.

My oestrogen level just came back it's 945pmol is this ok? I had it done at the GP surgery and it says it's normal. I stopped having periods a few months ago if that makes any difference. Thank you for your help x

Just to add I'm on 1.0mg sandrena, should I ask them to half the dose for me? Thanks for your help

How are your symptoms ? It’s best to go on that instead of levels.

Hello Dotty.

My boobs have been sore and swollen and I've been feeling dizzy and my blood pressure is a bit high. I bough a scales to weigh gel I guess I could weigh a bit less gel.

Hi ladies.

I reduced my oestrogel last night. Tried to do it with my little scales. Took what I thought was a tiny bit off but then there didn't seem much to rub in afterwards. Still feeling dizzy today and now trace of blood as I've upset my system by dropping that much I guess. Is 945pmol high? should I not be trying to lower it? Please please some advise. Thank you.

Don't reduce too quickly, you need to do it slowly.
Ask your doctor for the results so you can see the range the lab uses and how close to the top of it you are.
Personally, if I was having symptoms like that, I'd definitely lower.

Hi Hopeful
Are you peri menopause still?
If peri, those levels will mean little, as fluctuations can be wild.

Any changes in HRT can trigger a bleed of some description, if you have a womb still.

A reduction would need to be done slowly… maybe reduce to half a sachet or even a third to begin with. How have you felt overall on the sandrena over the 3 months?

Thank you both very much for your replies.

I've felt ok, but my boobs have been very sore lately. I haven't had a period for a few months but it hasn't been a year yet so does that mean I'm peri.

I found it impossible to measure it, I thought I'd taken away a fifth was aiming for 0.8 on scales but when I took it off the scales it seemed like I didn't have much to put on at all.  Maybe I should try measuring what not to take instead. Thank you ladies for your support 🤗.

Did you put the gel on before the blood test ?

Hi Dotty.

No I put it on at night and my blood test wasn't until 11am.
