Title: Does a D&C permanently stop post menopausal bleeding due to thick lining ?
Post by: BevM on May 07, 2024, 12:38:55 PM
Just an adjustment of my previous post. I had my D&C and hysteroscopy for thickened lining two and a half weeks ago. The bleeding started again today, and I was reading somewhere that D&C isn't a cure for bleeding, it is more of a diagnostic tool. When I saw my gynae for results after the procedure, he said that one way to treat it would be the mirena to stop the lining growing again. As I am having a hysterectomy in a few days, that was not an option for me.

But I suppose the fact that I haven't had any treatment to stop the bleeding, means that it was inevitable to start bleeding again...Am I correct?

Now I am pleased I have made the choice to go ahead with the hysterectomy. I just wish the bleeding could have held off for another 2 days.
