Title: Fullness under right rib
Post by: AnxiousSoul on April 25, 2024, 01:31:24 PM
I'm 52 and probably late stage peri (periods 100 days apart, etc) and for the past couple months have had a feeling under my right rib of something stuck under there!  Just an odd, dull discomfort, not pain as such.  I had something similar a couple years back but ultrasound discounted gallstones.  I don't feel like it's food/digestion related.  I don't have nausea or GERD or anything like that.  Just this strange sensation/fullness at the very bottom of my rib (more towards flank side as opposed to nearer sternum).  I wondered if it might be colon-related or a muscle issue?  I have a desk job and also have shoulder stiffness/arm pain at the right side, mouse/desk posture related?  Obvs my anxious brain is in overdrive!

I hope someone might have had similar or be able to shed some light on this!

Hi,
I have had the same rib discomfort for quite a while & have been to see a practice nurse & she examined me & asked me a lot of questions but wasn’t concerned. She did mention it could be muscular from my dog who pulls me a lot when we are walking.
I’ve had various tests including a chest xray & Ct scan all back normal.
I have recently been to an osteopath & she diagnosed costochondritis. I don’t know if it is or not but it did get slightly better after a couple of treatments.
It’s a very uncomfortable feeling😩
