Title: Evorel 50
Post by: Renee on April 18, 2024, 12:58:20 PM
Hello,

Last year I was advised to stop my post menopausal hrt regime as I was bleeding intermittently.
After a scan, biopsy, removal of 2 polyps and checking my womb lining I was given the all clear and advised I could go back on HRT.

My prescription arrived today and it is for Evorel 50 patches only.

I thought I also needed progesterone along with these patches? I am 58 and post menopausal.

Anyone else taking these patches?
Thank you. X

I would have thought the same...... can you check with your pharmacy in case they have a separate prescription waiting?? I know supply of different HRT products has been an issue lately, so they may be waiting for stock??

Is it Evorel Conti 50? If so it has both in the same patch.

The box says Evorel Estradiol 50 patches.
Contains 3.2mg per patch.
Absorption rate 50mcg of Estradiol in 24 hours.

You should contact your surgery. As you have a womb you need progesterone so should have been prescribed evorel conti not evorel 50. They did a similar thing to me but gave me conti instead of sequi in peri. I rang them up and they sent a new prescription through the same day.

Hi
Glad you can start again and delay must be frustrating !

Yes you need progesterone.

Whether that’s separate eg utrogestan or in evorel conti/sequi depends on what regime you were on before, how you felt / reacted and your preference. Not on your Gp who doesn’t sound as if they are thinking or other people’s guesses or own regimes/anecdotes!

If you didn’t have bad side-effects on  previous type of progesterone you might want to choose that again. But your Gp has messed up here so should at least have a call to explain and discuss your options and your choice.

Good luck

Xx

Sorry for the late reply.i contacted my GP and yes I should have also been prescribed  progesterone capsules.

It's all fixed now.
