Title: mirena and bleeding
Post by: shrosphirelass on April 14, 2024, 04:40:26 PM
Can anyone tell me whether constant bleeding is normal when you first have a Mirena. I had mine along with other procedures 3 weeks ago and have constant bleeding. It is light, but I need to constantly use a thick liner.

The leaflet said to expect spotting for several months but this isn't spotting it's a constant flow. I also have intermittent stomach cramps, but they're currently not bad at all.

Same, three months of light bleeds and then spotting.

But it's always good to be some reassurance that others get the same of course.

I’m 4 months in and still bleed. It stops for a while but then comes back. I thought it was finally stopping until a couple of weeks ago and now spotting again.

I’m not good with progesterone whatsoever though so really only trying this as I’m not sure what else to do. My specialist said it can be 6 months to settle so I’m holding onto that at the moment.
