Has issued a statement this evening stating that she has begun treatment for cancer, found after her abdominal surgery in January. I suspect that a biopsy went to histology which showed cancerous cells.

Why does it seem we’re hearing more and more people coming down this terrible disease?
It’s all we’re hearing lately.

Many cancers are curable but we don't hear about those.

Why oh why do certain areas of the press feel the need to stir up public feeling and make assumptions. Poor woman - I wish they'd leave her alone to deal with this, surrounded by her loving family (as we all would). 😔

Better diagnostics, social media, media broadcasting everything. These things were kept private in the past

So sad to read about it, and even sadder that the press have hounded the family so much in recent weeks, and forced her to make the statement when she's obviously ill. I hope she makes a full recovery.
