Title: Reducing Dosage and cutting patches
Post by: sara9876 on March 21, 2024, 02:26:04 PM
Hi, Just seeing if anyone knows, I am going to try to come off hrt, (I've been on it for years), the advice is to come off slowly, by reducing your dosage. Will I be able to do this by just cutting the patches in half, or does it not work this way. If anyone knows the answer it would be appreciated, thanks.

Can I ask why you want to come off it? I’ve had the same question about cutting patch. I halved mine in advice from the nurse but felt dreadful so have gone back to a full one.

Hi PearlJ I wanted to come off them because I have been on them for 5 years, at some point you should stop. Also the prescription charges are very expensive for me, every penny counts in my case!  My sister who is 7 years older, had a terrible time before hrt, felt normal on hrt, but then had no symptoms when she came off, so not too bad for her, I'm hoping I'll be the same, but I guess we're all different, but it's worth trying.
