Hi all, I shared my chronic double plantar fasciitis back in Jan.
Industrial shoes and calf stretching have really helped, although I had a relapse yesterday - sudden ping of plantar pain :'(
An MRI scan has revealed a relatively rare genetic condition, called coalition, where the foot joints don't separate properly in the womb.
I find it slightly weird that something I've had forever is hitting me now, very much in the meno transition.
I think I read somewhere that oestrogen is a natural pain reliever, so maybe it's been there lurking? waiting for my levels to drop :'(
...Does anyone have experience of body issues that self-resolve once hormone levels stabilise again?

Very weird :(. I haven't heard of it. I wonder if it has anything to do with connective tissue weakness with low oestrogen? Sorry I can't answer your question but just wondered if you're on hrt and if you're not would it help? I had hip pain which I assumed were worn out joints but it went when I started hrt. Now if I forget to change my patch the first symptom I get is a return of hip pain.

Tnx for the update. Were you referred to an orthopaedic consultant? U may benefit from advice about appropriate footwear.
Oestrogen is, I believe, life's elastic ;-)

Yes, saw a foot specialist, with some surprising advice about how much of it was due to tight calves.
I am on HRT Sheila99, but possibly not enough ;D
Can treat surgically or non-surgically
