Hi I was diagnosed with POF at 36 and have been on hrt sequi patches for 14 years, I was told I could stop any hrt at age 50 which I’m not going to do
I’ve been reading I should have been on conti patches after using sequi for 2 years because of POF if this is true that would be good as I’ve been having the withdrawal bleeds with sequi hrt and they’ve been heavy
My fsh was 90 14 years ago
Should I move to conti now ?
-
Hi. How do U feel overall? Stopping is something that medics seem hinged on, even if a regime is working ::)
Who is over-seeing your POF?
-
I feel ok, my gp has just called me actually I’ve asked if I can go on conti now, I wish they’d be more clued up on the difference between pof and menopause
-
Is there much difference? I thought POF was basically early menopause? Yes, after so long you should be on conti, I'm surprised it hasn't been suggested before. Most of us have the opposite problem, gps wanting us to go on conti when we're still peri just because we get to a certain age. Perhaps anyone whose body doesn't behave age appropriately gets poor advice >:(.

That's good, let us know how you get on.

It’s classed as early menopause after 40
Before 40 it’s pof

Well I was put on Evorel Conti in March after being on sequential for 14 years, I have been bleeding every day for 8 days I then have 7 days with no bleeding and I’m back to bleeding again
I know it takes up to 6 months to settle but it’s been 3 months and I’ve had enough of bleeding so much, my iron is low again and my hair is falling out, I’m going to ask the dr if I can add more progesterone to stop the bleeding
I’ve had scans just showed a small fibroid
-
Tnx for the. update :bighug: I believe that oestrogen may encourage bleeding from fibroids, no doubt some1 will put me right if I'm wrong ::)
-
Oh great ;D
-
Yep. One thing causes another :D. Didn't the Consultant explain the possible triggers?
-
She told me my fibroid wouldn’t be causing heavy bleeding and clots ::)
-
MayB look up 'fibroids' on MM to see if there are any threads that would help?
-
I will do, thank you
-
Let us know how you get on. Ask away!
how do U feel overall?

Fed up with constantly having a period and bad headaches every day which I think is the noristerone in the patch as I used to get headaches on sequi when taking the noristerone part
