So I am now about a week from stopping HRT which I felt was making me very anxious, jittery and suffering from palpitations.
So far I don’t feel any the worse for it, in fact I feel better, definitely less anxious, occasional nighttime jittery feeling and some nausea in the afternoon. I feel more energised and more like myself off of it.
Don’t know how long it will take to actually see what my true menopause symptoms are like. I have always been aware when I ovulate due to tiredness, constipation and that egg white discharge and that happened the other day. So much for GP saying at 53 it should all be over!
Anyone else fed up of GPs quoting average ages for stages and symptoms?

Yep. Because there are always exceptions ::)
Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use.

When I stopped HRT it was three months before my symptoms had all returned. How long had you been using it for?

Were you on the gel by any chance, as this exact same thing happened to me using it. I switched to patches and those symptoms eased a lot. I went cold turkey at the beginning of January as at 51 I wanted to know if I was through the night sweats - the quick answer is that I'm not and after three weeks I am now back on HRT. Such a minefield isn't it! x

Yes on the gel - I coped well on two small pumps and then they changed the make and pump and two pumps were huge and had me on too high a dose and it became a minefield of how to get the right dose … I’m scared to try again….
