Help ;D. DH got splashed with bacon fat whilst cooking earlier. I've soaked the garment in cold water and have put it through a drain cycle, can still C the spots :o. So have put bicarb of soda on the stains ......... advice. Please :-\
It's 1 of his best Ts.

A splodge of washing up liquid on it for 10 minutes or so. 🤷♀️ ??????
-
Tnx. I tried bicarb, off 2 C if there's been a good result. Be back in the morning.

I use Vanish on grease spots.
-
Vanish gel

Don't have any Vanish. Hoping that a gentle spin will help after soaking.

I've only ever had success with specialist grease removal laundry products. One thing I can't abide is grease spots on plain clothing!
-
I always rub a little bit of washing up liquid in to the greasy stain just before washing
-
It's been through a gentle wash/rinse cycle, out on the line, back in . I'll report back later ;)

Grease is one of the worst things to try to wash out. I'd say specialist grease cleaner is your best option.

Rubbing with Vanish bar followed by a soak and gentle wash usually works for me.
Failing that, rubbing with a bar of soap prior to soak and normal wash works too.

The marks weren't removed at the 1st attempt so yesterday I soaked in hand wash followed by a gentle rub of laundry powder then a cool wash with some 'zerofit' base layers and that seems to have worked :o. They all had a blow on the line for 4 hours but the towels came in as damp as when they went out - no dry ::)

I get really annoyed with myself if I've got grease spattered through laziness in not wearing an apron when cooking. I've noticed the younger generation don't seem to bother but I love mine for any messy jobs.
