Hi, I started on 2 pumps of oestrogel around 6 weeks ago, I already had the mirena. I am peri menopausal with a long list of symptoms, new anxiety being one of the worst.
The oestrogel seemed to kick in very quickly, after 1 week I felt like my old self, such a relief to lose the anxiety.
Unfortunately the anxiety has been returning along with hot flushes. I have had relief from other symptoms
From others experience is my oestrogen now too low as it’s levelled out in or was the initial good reaction because I only needed a small amount? So confusing!

Morning.
Which regime have you been prescribed? Sometimes it needs adjusting, slowly to ease symptoms.

The nurse has recommended 2 to 4 pumps oestrogel a day, I’ve started on 2. It’s just frustrating that I felt so much better for the first couple of weeks . Hard to know whether to go up or down to feel like that again 🤷🏻♀️

Anxiety can be a symptom of both too little and too much oestrogen. I think hot flushes can only be low. They normally recommend you stay at a dose for 3 months before changing but given the flushes perhaps add another 1/2 pump and see what happens? It can be useful to keep a diary so you can correlate symptoms with dose.

I agree with Sheila that a diary can be useful to see if there are patterns in your symptoms. I certainly see this in myself, my symptoms are very much cyclical and alter with my cycle- which makes sense. Our natural hormones fluctuate during normal monthly menstrual cycles, but in perimenopause our hormones can fluctuate madly and seem to give more exaggerated highs and lows.
I think sometimes on hrt, I can almost ' forget' about my own natural cycle which is still going on below the surface of added hrt hormones. It can take a while and some tweaking to find the best regime for an individual.
