After a year of hoping upping hrt would sort my joint pain it's clear something else is the cause of my worsening stiffness, muscle.weakness, severe fatigue and joint pain.
I was referred to an ME\chronic pain clinic who suspects fibromyalgia, but wants to run a couple more checks first. The pain and exhaustion is really debilitating, in the mornings it's so bad it's hard to lift a cup up, I can do minimal exertion and need to rest frequently. I asked about pain relief and was suggested Duloxetine. The side affects and withdrawal process sounds horrific. And it can affect libido.
My testosterone level was a very low 0.2 tested last month.
Has anyone been on testogel or similar and found both libido and fibro or joint pains improved as well?
Or any other medication that helps.with such symptoms?

May not be relevant as I don't have fibro but I did have muscle weakness as a meno symptom which was cured by testosterone (oestrogen made no difference). My absent libido returned too. Given the low libido I would thought it's worth a try. I found Tostran better than testogel but it's not available atm.

Thanks Sheila that's good to hear.
I thought going higher on the oestrogen would help, but although my 125 patch has helped my hormonal symptoms the pain weakness and fatigue have just got steadily worse. I am hoping my gp will consider T as I have been advising of my rubbish libido but so far seem reluctant to prescribe. But I have an appt Monday and will push for the libido side and if I can trial it, hope it may have a positive effect on weakness and energy.
