Hi I've been on HRT for 5 years and I'm 53 and post menopausal. I take x2 pumps of oestradiol gel nightly and Utrogestan progesterone. Recently I've started having disturbed sleep at night due to hot flushes. I read that the body can stop absorbing oestrogen so I'm wondering what to do. Not sure if I should try a higher dose of gel or decide maybe I just come off HRT and find a way of just living with the symptoms? I wasn't planning on coming off until I was about 55 or 56. The other complication is I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so poor sleep impacts my health significantly but I also wonder if progesterone makes me feel tired too. Any advice or experiences?

It isn't unusual to need an increase as you produce less yourself so I would try an extra 1/2 - 1 pump and see if the symptoms resolve. If you've had covid that can play havoc with it too. Yes, utro can give you fatigue. I'm staying on a (long) sequi regime in meno because of it, this way I have more 'good' days.

Thankyou - I think I may try this and see if it helps.

Has your gel bottle changed recently? Lots of ladies are having problems with the new manufacturer/dispenser, not giving the same results as previously?
