Hi can anyone recommend pain relief for V A please
Any help would be appreciated
thank you

Have you had it diagnosed by a Dr? I use vagifem for mine but you can go to a pharmacy and buy Gina but I think it's pricey
-
Hi Ann c, are you using local estrogen for your VA xx
-
Thank you
Yes I was diagnosed with V A about a year ago and I use Vagifem tablet which has help I am just having a flare up at the moment, all my GP keeps saying it will settle down, they have given me some steroid cream
But the burning sensation is awful
Thank you for your help and advice

How often are you using the Vagifem?
-
I use Vagifem once a day

Disappointing that its not working that great for you. Have you tried Ovestin to apply topically on the outside, sometimes Vagifem alone is not enough and doesn't reach the outside area.
After a year the burning feeling shouldn't be so intense even with a flare up. Flare ups are common and don't last long and as for a pain killer I don't think there is one that is effective. I can only suggest the added Ovestin that might help.

Thank you for all your help

Have you any other symptoms, thrush can have the burning feeling too. I had thrush for weeks before I realised it wasn't an atrophy flare up. Can you ask for a swab test?
-
Ah yes Dierdre, I too was told I had thrush after a routine swab, didn't even know I had it

I was given Lidocaine cream once, I was so sore externally. It just makes everything numb. It's an anesthetic on prescription or OTC.

Thank you all
Yes I have been tested for thrush all clear
I will ask my G P for some of the cream you advised
