Title: Lesson learnt - Utrogestan and food don’t mix
Post by: Tynkabelle on November 22, 2023, 07:04:08 PM
Oh my!
… been taking Utrogestan 100mg with 4 pumps of Oestrogel every day for just over 6 months.  I always have at least a 2 hour gap after eating my evening meal before taking Utrogestan.

This is a first - Brain wasn’t in gear today, took the pill and immediately realised and then thought, nah, it won’t be that bad.  Had something to eat and oh cripes! how wrong am I, less than an hour later I can hardly keep my eyes open, my head is fuzzy and now sat in bed!

I assume each person may be different in terms of reaction, but wow mixed together = knockout juice for me! 😳

I always felt hung over on Utrogestan despite being really strict about the eating around it. After 6 months I had Mirena fitted. It’s a game changer

Blimey, I wish utrogestan had that effect on me. It's opposite, it makes me feel wired like I've drank 10 red bulls 😳 😭

Hehe thanks both - it seems to suit me ok so staying on it but never felt hungover or wired - crikey this HRT is weird in how it affects us all in different ways! 🤔

Everybody is unique, when it comes to HRT, I am very “progesterone dependent person”, so have to take Utrogestan straight after food, if not it makes me too energetic and I can’t sleep. With food my sleep is good and next day I have plenty of energy to function and it makes my brain work properly. I don’t take any form of estrogen any more, it made me feel sick.
