Title: Mirena and worse anxiety anyone?
Post by: Pink68 on October 30, 2023, 05:19:44 PM
Hi ladies, I had the mirena coil fitted in July , have had constant discharge be spotting or brown. Quite smelly . I also feel my anxiety has got worse.
Anyone had any experience with this?
Thanks

You may have an infection?
I would make an appointment with your GP for a swab test? Spotting is normal, but a discharge with an odour, isn’t.

It does take a while for the mirena to settle, but if your anxiety has increased, perhaps consider having it removed?

Hi Pink68

I had exactly the same experience with my first Mirena and asked the nurse practioner to remove it, thankfully she said not yet until you have tried a low dose HRT.

I started a 1mg dose of Oestrogen and never looked back, anxiety disappeared and so did the damn periods and spotting

Maybe ask your practioner to try this regime and see the outcome

All the best Ms Jacks
