Hi all, hoping you can advise. I'm on the last patch of my first pack of Evorel Sequi patches, due to change to the new pack today, and am having a bleed. Also have had a headache for the last few days, similar to one I used to get during the gap week on the pill (Microgynon). Is this something that keeps happening or should it go away in time? Thanks.

Hi Panda
Sorry to hear about your headache. As you have only just started Evorel sequi your body is still adjusting. The headache on its own might have been due to the progestogen side effects, but as you are bleeding too this is most likely to be due to your natural cycle. Evorel sequi will not suppress the cycle so depending how often you are ovulating, your natural cycle may well override the HRT cycle from time to time, giving you bleeds when you don't expect them. As ovulation becomes less frequent the HRT cycle should give you more predictable bleeds - towards the end of or just after the combi patch phase.

I used to get pre menstrual migraines before hrt, and still get them when I finish the 12 days of utrogestan, all I can think is it's the drop in progesterone that causes it, plus a bleed is initiated by inflammation 😞
I asked Meno specialist at Drs if she could give me something to stop my periods, she said the mirena coil, but I'm not keen on the idea of that.
