Morning. That's it from the Gynae then >:(. Not much support?
Get thyself onto a waiting list for a dedicated menopause clinic for proper advice. Some do find that periods are heavier and/or more painful. For me it was, fortunately, the other way: I had excruciating periods for many years :'(
Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress. How old might U B and what R your periods doing? More, less, gaps ........

Yes! They were painful with pms before children, then stopped being painful when I first started peri as periods became much shorter and lighter. But since starting hrt at the end of last year, I now have normal length bleeds now with a heavy couple of days and they hurt more now. Sometimes even into the second day which they never did previously. I think it's the estrogen being increased so more to shed.

I'm 47. My periods last year were quite heavy and ver erratic. Sometimes I would get 2 a month or every 3 weeks, now however there much lighter and currently nearly 3 months with nothing but still have all the symptoms it's on its way every month. Yes gyne have discharged me telling me to get the mirena, which I don't want. Have an appointment on Monday to discuss HRT again.

Had GP appointment this morning and been prescribed gel and utrogestan. The GP says I cant take the utrogestan vaginally as its not liscenced to be used thar way. I'm going to do it anyway as I know it can be used that and the side effects are less for me. Shes put me on the utrogestan for 2 weeks of cycle at 200mg so my question is what dose would you take vaginally and does anybody else use it this way? Thanks

I think you're doing the right thing taking it vaginally. Unfortunately it is the same dose whatever route you take unless you are having regular scans to check womb lining.
