Hi, thank you for accepting me onto the forum.
I’m 41 and had total hysterectomy almost 4 years ago after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I was 37 at the time, so my ovaries were left behind in the hope I could preserve natural hormones for a little bit longer, however I ended up having those removed 8 months ago too when I developed early warning symptoms of recurrence.
Since then I’ve been in surgical menopause, and on a very low dose of evorel patches (25mcg).
I felt like it was sufficient for a while, but over the last 3 months I’ve been on an awful downward spiral of mood swings, anxiety and hot flushes/night sweats/joint pain. I feel like I’m going insane at times and it’s scary.
My GP has referred me to the menopause clinic but that’s a 6-8month wait. In the meantime, I’ve had HRT increased to 50mcg and started 100mg Utrogestan..
Has anyone else been in a similar position? How did this regime work for you?
Anything else I can do myself to help manage my symptoms? I feel so lonely and isolated, my friends are supportive but none of them really understand my situation as they’re still all young and not anywhere near menopause yet.

Oh dear, how awful for U!
Hopefully some1 will be along with regards a regime that may suit until you are able to be seen in the Clinic.
Do U think an appropriate anti-depressant might help with the flushes, there are a few that supposedly ease those symptoms. In the mean time, put the names of the products into the search box: separately : and see what pops up. Make notes.
:welcomemm:

Hello Tates, nice to 'meet you're
I am sure there are others on here who have gone through early surgical menopause day I may be able to offer similar experiences and advice. I have heard of an organisation called daisynetwork which helps with early menopause I don't know if they may also be able to help.
Although all on her have varying symptoms and causes, it's helps so much to have a support and I understanding. You have been through so much already and I can see you need some extra support. Even us who have a ' normal ' menopause find ourselves feeling isolated as others around us may not have such had symotoms. You can ask anything on here, generally someone will have an answer or just a kind word.
Wish you well

Thank you both!
I’m googling Daisy network as we speak!
GP is really good, and has increased my dosage, with an agreement to review at 3 month intervals.
I tried venlafaxine prior to ovary removal but it didn’t agree with me, but if the increased HRT doesn’t help I’ll definitely discuss other options.

U may find that anxiety will ease as hormones settle a bit. That doesn't lessen the effects though as I know fro experience :-\
