Hello
I’ve stopped HRT after 14 months, I took gel and utrogestan but as it’s not helping my VA the gynae suggested vagifem, Ovestin and moisturisers.
I’m having a very heavy bleed, tummy discomfort and bloating. Had anyone else experienced this as the gynae didn’t inform me this would happen.
I’m hoping it’ll stop soon, I’m on day 4 of my bleed and I really hope that the bloating will go down??
Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.

Morning. Why did the GP prescribe HRT initially? Were you prescribed 'vagifem' since stopping that regime?
I expect that the bleed is 'normal', is there anything in the leaflets in the boxes to let you know what to experience?
Gynaes aren't always the best people to discuss menopause with, mayB ask for a referral to a dedicated clinic. In the mean time get on with the 'vagifem' internally every night if it isn't too messy for you. Let us know how you get on .

Hi there
I was prescribed for VA but I’m happy to just use vagifem for now.
Thanks re the advice.

Ahhhh ..... some find that some forms of HRT helps with VA but localised application really will bring it under control.

Bless you thank you 💕

When I stopped HRT 3.5 years ago I quickly started experiencing VA so started Vagifem, which helped a bit, but not enough. I went back onto patches a year ago, and was advised to have a break from Vagifem every 3 months to see if I still need it.
I still need it! So I use continuous HRT and Vagifem too. I hardly ever need to use moisturisers these days and have found that spontaneous intimacy is possible once more.
