BMJ podcast, very interesting!

Don't ask me to summarise it, you have to listen to it!  ;D

Very interesting, and not surprising when you consider that it seems like almost every product will make you live forever whilst killing you. It highlights the need to do your own research and not assume these experts really are experts, especially when they are on the telly.

Not quite the same but when I go to the vets they try to push the food they sell and I always refuse. Vets are not trained in nutrition and when challenged about ingredients they cannot provide any rationale as to why their food is better, possibly because they just stock what they get from reps and suppliers. In most cases the food they stock is more expensive than better foods, but people buy it because they think the vet knows better than they do  :'(
