Hi
I have been on HRT since May and take supplements for joints etc. Ive noticed I am getting sore hips again. I do exercise so not sure if it's off that but feel stiff driving and after sitting. Anyone get the same?

Yep. I'm not on HRT but if I don't move regularly, my joints make me go 'ouch' on raising from a chair ::)
Pain is a warning.

Well hello!
For a couple of years I was getting stupidly stiff in the mornings, so took up yoga at home to help me.move more freely. That helped but this year my hips were getting really painful, was affecting my mobility. I had x-rays taken after a g.p consultation and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hips.
I started a course of physio which has begun to make a difference.
I mistakenly thought that my joint pain was hormonal related ( feel daft about that) and that hrt would alleviate it. I often read on here that many womens joint pain was indeed helped from hrt.
So I am slowly realising I can't blame everything on hormones! Osteoarthritis can worsen with age... I too take supplements, milled flax seed and evening primrose high dose capsules ( veggie ones, Obviously can't take fish oils etc)
It may be worth a check up with your dr if your hips are affecting day to day life.

I do yoga twice sometimes 3 times a week plus a group cycle class so might be due to that.
I drove the car yesterday for 2 hours and its my right hip that gets painful and stiff I suppose as that leg and foot was on gas pedal a lot.
I will get checked at the docs too what test did they do to diagnose you. The supplements really helped me its just if im sitting in same position for a while my right hip area stiffens.
My doc prescribed citilopram as alternative Ads to Fluoxetine with the body thrashing episodes on a night and same happens on these Ads 10mg per day so a v low dosage so I ve stopped them and increased my supplements.

My Dr examines me,asked questions and had me lay on the examining table to manipulate my hips in different ways, watching expressions from a slight grimace to a shout!
Then it was x-ray which showed degeneration. Physio to targeting area really helps, paracetamol prior to any extra exercise too.
Worth a check maybe.
Shame the newer AD didn't help the night thrashes. I hope the supplements will take affect. All trial and error isn't it. I am improving but feel a bit hesitant as we often to forward only to call back again. But feel quietly optimistic! Am now on 125 estradot with a low dose AD for the cyclical moods. So far it feels better. 😍

12 months ago I diagnosed myself with sciatica, turns out that is is bursitis in the hip ::). Exercises were prescribed.

Ahh right I see. I think mine is more strain on hip flexor as when I press on a muscle area there its very sore and painful.
I am pleased you are feeling better hunni long may it continue :)

It has been. Worse in the early hours of the morning and nope, the stretching exercises didn't really help. It hasn't impacted on my ability to enjoy gardening ;)

I get the pain in my right glute, I think it's called that goes down my leg to the knee. I take local hrt but not systemic. Don't know if this is hip pain. It's uncomfortable to lie on sometimes. I walk a lot. Also get some pain on left side and foot. All bloody annoying!

When you say foot, do you mean sole of foot( for me it's more the ball and arch). Have unexplained glute, hamstring, calf and sole of foot pain for over a year now. The glute/hip comes and goes but the hamstring and calf are there when do any activity. The sole of foot is the worst though and only there on really bad pain days.

Yes the sole of the foot just below the toes. It's worse some days. I soak my feet which sometimes helps.

It has to be connected to the glute pain etc. Just wish knew the actual source and cause of the pain. I cycle to commute some days and the foot pain is terrible after the pressure of the pedal or else because my hamstring gets sore from cycling

I never thought about it being connected, foot and hip. If I do a lot of walking or my shoes have thin soles, it really hurts. I've had a lot of back/hip/ knee/foot pain the last few months. I walk a lot as I don't drive. Not sure about the doctor's as I don't want to take painkillers indefinitely.

Yeah I was amazed how connected the body is. Myself and a friend both had knee mris as our knees were really sore. Nothing showed, but physio said knee pain often comes from the back or glutes etc. Hrt has helped my knee or maybe it's because am limiting cycling as much as possible. I find the sole of foot pain to be the most debilitating. The worst part is that because there isn't an obvious cause, I feel as if my GP thinks I'm imagining it etc.
