Title: Hrt pre payment certificate
Post by: Blot on August 09, 2023, 09:55:27 PM
Just heard about this and wondering if I can use it. I see that vagifem is listed as one of the things that you can get on it but my doc changed mine to Estradiol vaginal tablets (same ingredients I’m assuming but cheaper).
Will it be allowed? Anyone else use the certificate for this?

MayB ring a local pharmacist and ask, they will probably know what the certificate covers.  Then let us know  ;)

How R U otherwise?

There's an alphabetical list of medicines covered here:

https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/help-nhs-prescription-costs/nhs-hormone-replacement-therapy-prescription-prepayment-certificate-hrt-ppc/medicines-covered-hrt-ppc

If the product name is 'Estring' it is listed.

Hi CLKD. I will call in the pharmacy and let you know. Haven’t been around for a while but I’m good.

Fruitcake, I’ve looked on the list already.  Its not Estring. It’s the same as vagifem but the generic version.

Hi. Just to update. I purchased the hrt payment certificate and I’ve been getting my prescription of estradiol vaginal pessaries with no problem. Even though it just said vagifem on the official list.
Well worth the money.

Sorry I have never heard of a Hrt pre payment cert. - how much does it cost, where does one get it from, does it replace a prescription etc?

Hi just Google hrt pre payment certificate and a gov website comes up. It tells you what’s included and it’s about £19+ for the whole year. Big saving depending on what you get.

It’s the best £19 I’ve ever spent . It would cost me a fortune if I had to pay every time my HRT runs out during the year.

I have one of these. Doc had me down as having 1-4 pumps of estrogdl so they give me loads of bottle at a time and I always have to order it separately to utrogestan 🤣

Also it's not widely advertised, but some people are exempt from prescription payments if   they are on medications for certain conditions. And this applies to any medications prescribed not just for the drugs for those conditions.

Sorry I don't know the specific conditions, but do have a look at prescription payment exemptions or maybe have a word at your pharmacy?

Well worth the money. Also, while you're looking at the different options, have you checked out the deals online? But I want to warn you that it is important to use only reliable payment methods on the Internet. The other day I came across https://casinosanalyzer.com/casino-bonuses/wildfortune.io (https://casinosanalyzer.com/casino-bonuses/wildfortune.io) where I also got a Wild Fortune bonus code. It's always good to save where you can. Anyway, maybe double check with your pharmacist to make sure, but I think you're good to go!
Glad it worked out! Thanks for sharing, this is really helpful information!
