Hi ladies hope someone out there can help.
Have been on estriol (old gynest) cream for probably 2 years but for last 6 months or so have been using every night. No problems apart from in last couple of months had some light spotting (not every night)
Had ultrasound year or so + had a fibroid + some polyps but advised small in size + no action needed. Do have gp appt later this week but just wanted to ask Is it still normal to get occasional bleeding from either vaginal/endometrial atrophy whilst still using vaginal estrogen ? As you get older (I'm 52) does the atrophy worsen even when using the vaginal estrogen ?
I'm not using any other hrt apart from the vaginal cream. Any help would be appreciated 🙏🏼

I wouldn't have thought it was normal to have bleeding when using vaginal estrogen but I am not medically qualified. Best ask your GP when you have the appointment.

Localised oestrogen shouldn't make any difference to your own periods. But if your post meno (1 year without a natural bleed) any bleeding should be investigated as a possible cancer risk. I would see your gp. Fibroids, polyps and va can all cause spotting but best to get checked out.
