Title: Pelvic pain after UTI - anyone else ?
Post by: Orba on August 04, 2023, 05:50:56 PM
Hi ,
After having a kidney infection followed by another UTI  over an 8 week period I started to get lower pelvic cramping and burning. It got so bad I had to go to A&E a few nights ago.
They did bloods but nothing else.
GP said can't be another infection as I've had previous antibiotics and she gave me overactive bladder pills.
I have been referred for a pelvic scan.
My urinary symptoms have calmed but I'm in pain with the pelvic cramping.
Just wondering if anyone had similar after UTI and whether it calmed down. It feels like a bad period pain.  :'(

"can't be" from a medic always worries me  :-\. If your GP believes it's an over active bladder then she needs to refer you.

Take some pain relief.  There are a lot of nerves in the pelvic area so infection may well impact.  Also infections may cause spasms .
