Random question. Has your ability to type and spell been affected? I'm really struggling at work and spell check is on overdrive. This seems to be getting progressively worse maybe when I'm more tired which seems to be all the time. Thanks
-
Mine has. I can barely spell anything now and rely on spellcheck but things like medications are not in spellcheck and it takes me ages to look them up.
I also notice when I try to look at a word to copy the spelling it feels like the letters jump around and I struggle to copy them. It saddens me as I cannot spell basic words any more and I could spell such words effortlessly previously.
I am sorry to hear you are experiencing this. It must be so difficult for you at work.

At least I can stop worrying about dementia! It is horrible though. Makes me feel stupid.

It makes me feel stupid too. I worry everybody reading anything I write is judging my spelling and grammar. I agree, it is horrible. I am a vegetarian and I cannot spell that word any more. I have to spellcheck it each time. :o
-
You R not stupid. When I was a secretary all those years ago, it seemed that I would get 1 word a day which 'went wrong' whilst typing ::) ....... difficult as a medical secretary and it wasn't every day.
Now I struggle finding words for plants especially even those that I am familiar with: i.e. cowslips, spider plant ...... as well as forgetting names.
How R U addressing your tiredness?

Thank you. Firstly I'm not active enough which leads to a viscous cycle of fatigue and my iron is low so take supplements. I'm looking to take magnesium but they look like horse tablets and I hate taking tablets. I'm on patches but not sure if this should be increased. First month made a big difference but I feel like I'm slipping back on month 4. Other symptoms too but overall much better then 5 months ago.

Sometimes HRT doses do need a hike up and down until the body accepts the support.
I often tell DH that I'm going to do something totally unrelated to the activity. Tonight it was "I'll feed the birds" whilst getting a box of tissues ::)

Thank you. I think you have all.described me too.
My speech can be terrible too, have a picture for a simple word in my head but I can't find the word to say out loud. So frustrating. I mismanaged to stop myself stammering as I search to say the word but it's horrible. Not as bad in the home but I do feel.stupid when it happens in public.
I also say I am stuff like I am putting the washing out when in fact I am watering plants. I put down to Not being able to multi task anymore and yet my mind is remembering tasks I need to do and not concentrating on the actual job I am doing right there, but jumping ahead.

Oh yes, forgetting words. I am forever forgetting what I was saying or looking for the right word. It is embarrassing and frustrating.

Apparently brain fog may be caused by a lack of B12 ...... been reading an article this evening.

That is interesting. I take a B12 supplement.

Marmite was recommended. I eat this on toast occasionally. When FinL returned after being a Prisoner in the Far East he was given a small jar of Marmite and a packet of fags ....... so there must be something in it.

Sad that you don't smoke or drink anymore or generally sad :-\ SarahT
Marmite is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. I love 'bovril', hot in a mug with rounds of hot toast ;-)

Hah! Just think I sound a bit sad that my excitement is to be found in a decaf coffee!! Gotta find those kicks where we can😂 Thanks for checking on my sadness level, am doing ok today.
Never much of a smoker, and stopped any alcohol because of it upsetting my hernia.
Today I couldnt thinking a word and For some reason my brain makes me draw a kind of a square in front of me. Have no idea why. Brain is a complex devils. Yes it has! It takes ages to type a few sentences now and spellchecker is going mad.
It's worse on my phone, coordination is crap at best.
